Facebook Page Design
There are many social networking websites today but let's face it Facebook is currently the biggest of them all. Many have being and gone, some are still hanging around. Some companys have tried to take Facebook head on and failed. Although Facebook has a lot of issues it's much further ahead than any other social networking website of it's kind.
Although Twitter is also huge I do not class them as the same as each other. Twitter is more of a quick "hey I am here doing this, it rocks!" It's kind of a quick outlet, a quick way to tell the world what you are doing but Facebook is a lot more, at least in my opinion. Sure you can use it in the same way as Twitter if you want to but it allows for much bigger statuses to be posted, has a lot more involved, a lot more to do. I am talking about apps, games, facebook fan pages etc.
If you are in a band then you will definitely want to create yourself a facebook fan page. This will not only allow you to have a personal page for the band but allow it to be easily maintained and all for free!

Facebook like most social networking websites allows you to have an avatar / display picture. Mypsace used to be good for this however it doesn't seem as effective anymore but Facebook actually allows quite a bit of flexibility with this.
In terms of width it is not so flexible but heigt wise it is quite reasonable. For instance you can have verticle Facebook Display Pictures and it will be very effective. Depending on the picture you use it will vary but if you can find a nice portrait picture of yourself without too many people in it then it will work to your advantage.
You can have a picture of yourself and then just under your website, company name etc. This is really effective among Photographers and websites selling products like a PC or Games website. I often see Games and PC companys changing their display picture quite often when they have a special offer. No longer is it just an Avatar it's now a promotional tool!
